ok... i am running knock senser code... it is jdm b16a so i did not think any of it... (my ecu is p30)... no i hear when i am on it sens it is running a code (knock) that my timeing will not advance as far and am l'm not geting athe the power out of my engine... and if so how do i fix becaues my engine does not have a place for the sensor....

If its a b16a, it should definately have the knock sensor on the engine. Are you sure your looking in the right place? Its on the back of the block above the oil filter. Its just a 1 wire deal, shouldnt be hard to find.

 

i had this problem before on mine. i changed the knock sensor and it turned out to be the ecu. So i got a phearable chipped ecu that doesnt read it and now i'm good. What its doing right now is putting your car into limp mode so thats why its weako.

 

it does not feal like it is in limp mobe... it pulls hella hard... i am just as fast as and gsr.... and from what i heard... JDM engine do not have a kock sensor... it is JDM b16a....

is it a green plug... with one red wire out of it... so i think that is it... right to the left of the oil filter... and should i just replace it... and if so what usdm engine sould i base it off.. 97 is b16a2?

edm usdm p30 ecu dont have a knockboard.

what car is it in? youre going to either need to run a wire from the knock sensor to the ecu or buy a chipped ecu. /thread.
