Hi all. I've got a 91 Accord and its been difficult to start lately. When cold, it will turn over 5 to 10 times before starting. When it does start, the check engine light comes on. When the cars warm it starts fine, no light. I replaced the distributor about 2 years ago. Any one got any ideas where I should start?

 

Ok, did a search and came up with some ideas. Main relay, FP regulator? Anything else?

I have a 92 that has, for 300,000 miles, started in about a half-second of cranking. It was taking about 2 seconds lately and, on a couple of occasions, 10 or 15 attempts. Changed cap, rotor, and plugs last week and it seems to be back to it's old self. The plugs were way over-due as the gap had gone from its .040 spec to about 3 times that. It is a wonder it was running at all.

I saw this and thought, "well that can't be helping much".

 

Put in a new main relay today. I'll see if that helps. I'll change the lugs too if someone can tell me what kind I should use.
