Default B16a2 turbo...good idea??

like many college students...im pretty broke...i dont have all the $$$ at once...i was just wondering if a b16a2 turbo setup was a good idea vs. a b18c5 n/a...im not looking to smoke everyone on the street just be quick enough to produce good power...how much power do you think i could get with a fined tuned set up like this? thanks!

I think a pretty decent turbo setup could net you about 175-185 whp. This is a neutral figure. You should hit 13's easily. Probably mid 13's would be a good guess. It wouldn't be as reliable as a N/A C5, but should cost less. Good luck in your endeavors.

I'd think that if you got a good used system and had all the fuel enrichment taken care of, you could be putting down better numbers than that. There's no reason you shouldn't be in the low 13's if it's intercooled and done right.

I am shooting for 230-250 whp with my setup.

Setup cost: Approx $6500 right now. That is alot of money!
