They're good. But it depends on what you're looking for.

The Ecsta MX offers pretty good dry traction (better than budget performance tires like the Yokohama ES100 or Kumho SPT, but not as good as the best top-of-the-line tires like the Bridgestone S-03 or Goodyear F1 GS-D3), okay wet traction (not as good as those other tires), and so-so treadlife (longer than the Falken Azenis RT-615, but shorter than the ES100, SPT, S-03, F1 GS-D3), at a price that is in between the budget performance tires and the top-of-the-line tires.

If you're looking for the best performance without concern for price, you're probably better off with the RT-615 (for dry performance) or the F1 GS-D3 (for dry and wet performance). And if you're looking for the best value ("bang for the buck"), you're probably better off with the Kumho Ecsta SPT. But if you're looking for a tire that's in between those two categories, then the MX is worth considering.

BTW, why is the title of this topic "weird idle"?

I had a set of 205/50/15 on a set of Si rims on my former H22 EK hatch. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with them, especially for the price. Straight line traction was great. Definatly handled the torque well.

However, on my car, I HATED the way they handled corners. I could always feel sidewall flex. I tried all different pressure ranges (32 up to 45) and it was still unacceptable (IMO) for a max performance tire. The ES100's on my brother's car cornered MUCH better and were a LOT cheaper.

Overall, a good tire, but I would definatly not pay that kind of money for these tires again.

Aren't Si rims 5.5in or 6in wide? That could have been your problem with the cornering. I had them on my old 17x7.5 Rota Subzeros, (205/40's) and they handled great. I wish I would have gotten them again for my 15x6.5 GroupN's. IMO...they're a great tire.
