young rsx drivers i need you answers!
ok well i am almost 19. i am in the prcess of selling my civic and im stuck with a couple choices. I either want to buy an Integra or an Rsx-s after my car sells. so heres my question, how much are you young rsx drivers paying for insurance and what are your monthly payments on your car like. I WILL be buying a used rsx and it will be under my parents names so their GREAT credit should help a bit.
so please just state your age, location, year of car and if its under your name or your parents and how much your'e paying for it. Thanks alot

im 19 now and got my rsx-s when i was 17 and i got full coverage for it...i belief my parents are paying around 1300-1400 half a yr
you need to call around to different agents. don't get quotes online. if you are financing, you need to have full coverage. you will also have to take a few items into consideration:
location
daily usage (mileage)
driving record
deductibles
value of the car
make/model
your age
it's true a higher deductible will lower your rates, but you need to consider what you can pay out of pocket if you need to make a claim. for instance, if your deductible is $1000, can you pay that right away if you need to have the car repaired? the integras are annually on the top 10 'most stolen' lists. the rsx is suffering from higher rates because of theft rates and break-ins.
i'm going to pull an old guy-voice-of-reason comment here, so please bear with me... at 19, you're either going to college, working, or both. $500/month is a lot of $. owning a nice car is great, but who are you trying to impress? i'm not criticizing, i'm just asking you to ask yourself. you're going to be putting a LARGE chunk of income towards a car. it will increase with added points from tickets or filing a claim. even if you are incident-free, you age puts you in the 'high-risk' pool until you are 24 or 25.
are you still living at home or in a dorm/apartment? you're going to look pretty silly at age 20 or 21 if you pick up a girl and drive her back to your parents house in an expensive car. if you live in an apartment/dorm, that $500+/mo is going to eat up your budget to do other things, like vacations for instance. you'll be cash-poor from paying to keep the car.
i'm not saying NOT to get the rsx or integra, but maybe a little practicality over performance would be in order.
good luck!

yea ice taken those into consideration, my driving record is sqeaky clean and it will stay that way. i average about 70 miles a day. and trust me i have thought about jumping into those kinds of payments at my age
I do live with my parents but im still a senior in highschool so i dont see a problem with this, i am taking a year or so off before i go to my college(UTI) and i make near 700 dollars every two weeks. the reason im moving up to an rsx or integra is because im tired of buying project cars and HOPING they will stay reliable you know, i want something i dont really have to worry about besides normal maintenince. every car ive owned (im on my fourth going on to my 5th) has been a fixer upper and i tired of it. but if my payments on the rsx are going to be around 500 im just going back to square one and getting an 06 si.

If you need reliability get the rsx, but if its not an issue, and you can afford 800 bucks for another b18b, go with a boosted integra. You will pay less for insurance, and have a faster car. Im not sure how into cars you are, but eventually, you will want to boost your rsx, and then your going to spend 800 bucks for just k-pro alone. But 1400-1600 is what you should expect to pay, and I dont think it will be that much cheaper if you decide to choose another sports car.
you're going to pay alot no matter what. The DC2 Integra was one of the most frequently stolen cars in America for I think 2 years running. The new DC5 is less stolen since the security is better on it (really its either gut it on the spot or you have to flatbed it). But since it is also an Acura (a luxury lineup) the price is hiked up a bit there too. Look into stretchign your funds a bit and picking up the new Si. Same as a Type-S powerwise w/ LSD and more options from the factory than a new RSX.
