so i found a salvage s2000 and they guy is selling it for 13,500 it is an 01' yellow carbon fiber hood. 55k miles. car is mechanically sound but the seller has stated it is slavage because the interior was stolen, but he had replaced it. everything is fine but the damn thing is salvage. i know a lot of you are going to say ultimately it comes down to me. please put in some insight. thanks
Theres pro's and con's to it.
Personally, If your gonna sell the car later down the Road, you shouldn't but a car that's already salvaged because its going to be a bitch to sell it in the long road.
I myself, picked up a salvage titled s2k for dirrtty cheap due to theft recovery. Why?
Because i knew i was going to keep the car for a very very very very very long time

well i found one for a little bit more money but it has 110,000 miles on it. so it does not have warranty. doesn't that also mean it depreciates more in value also?

I bought my 00 s2k for 14k, 77k miles, and clean title. Low ball his ***, and when you get it for dirt cheap, remember that if you want to sell you will get cut like the guy before you. You getting a loan on that?

Have the frame checked out by a reputable body shop, at the owner's expense.

well i found another one a lot closer to me for 15,500. he has tein cs suspension which he wants to remove before selling. i'm currentlt trying to bargain.

my friend is selling a 00' with a blown motor for 10000 obo. its painted laguna blue with a molded j's racing front lip. it has a clean title. i think 13,500 is way to high for a salvage, and you dont know what kinda gremlins it has.

00' red 63k miles clean title- $16k
tein cs coilovers
act hdss 1000 miles on it
will also come with new extra 03' rotors and new pads
and full tune up on top of that. until anyone shows me better this is what im getting. neadless to say, he's driving 4hrs to bring it to me.

here is my take on it. 13,500 IS kinda high for a Salvage. I bought my S2k 2 1/2 years ago for 17,500 and its a 00 clean title. So id say you can find a 00 for 15,000 and i have seen them for that cheap. Maybe you can talk him down to like 12,000. If you plan on keeping it for a long *** time i say why not? unless your gonna sell it soon id say hell no. My Ek i just picked up is a rebuild for theft and it came from my friend, he built it back up. Its a 2000, but that is a Civic and truely if i loose out reselling it it only cost me 1500.
I'm in the same boat as the OP. Found a 05 with 8k miles on it for 18k and seems like a killer deal. But not sure about it
Anyways I remember hearing somewhere that insurance companies offer full coverage for salavaged titled cars, anyone know for sure? I can't imagine driving one w/ just liablity
(sorry to thread jack a little)

depends on what company your goign with. If your with a reputable insurance company, that'll do it. If you with some bull shiet like freeway or eastwood, i don't think they cover salvaged vehicles
