Key does not start with the key????
I just got my 99 honda accord car back from the body shop and it will only start with the key I gave them, a spare key. I tried using my main key (the key I have been using for 2 years now) and my car will not start. It seems like my car will not reconize the key, it turns on the radio, lights, and whatnot, but will not allow me to start the car. Any ideas what is going on here?

Maybe they swapped out the ECU and programmed only the key you gave them. Take it back to them and find out what they did.

They told me they misplaced my key so so had another one made, so only the key they gave back to me starts the car now, it is not a honda OEM key, it does not have the H on it. Should I be worried?

When they did that, it no longer accepts any other keys that they didn't have at the time. Go back & have them do it again, but hand them EVERY key you have so they all work.

all accords built since the 98 MODEL YEAR have had an immobilizer. I have a 1998 car built in 97 (LX-V6) and it has an immobilizer on it. I have yet to see a 6th gen without one........
was this a Honda dealer? How did they loose the key?

You had all your keys working before you took it to them. If you want more than the key they had made to work you will have to pay something like $20 each. They owe you the same number of working keys you started wirh.

I concur. And make sure to tell them to give you original honda keys too. They screwed up, make them fix it.
