Default Limp mode and no code. Then nothing. WTF?

While driving back from a 15 mile drive. The check engine light came on and the car went into limp mode (3k rev limit), and the rpm rose from 700 to 1200. I Immediately pull the car over and checked for codes. NOTHING. I turned the car off then back on and the light was gone. The car ran for about a minute completely normal. As soon as my bro jumped into the passenger side the same thing happened but this time, the car turned off. After the third time starting it, the car ran perfect and still no check code recorded.

As I am typing this I am starting to wonder if the ecu was being hit by my brother.

UPDATE: problem fixed. Click Here

do you have your ECU in the floor not mounted properly?

he could have been kicking it with his feet if you have a loose connector

yeah, it's just laying there behind the carpet. I'll probably have to make some type of custom mount.

I have an h22 in an eh2. The person who did the swap probably did a rush job. I had to correct lots of things.

Update: On my way home, on the freeway and a few hours ago, the check engine light came on again. The engine sounded like when you gas a vehicle while moving and the key turned off. Moving the ecu didn't help it this time so I exited the freeway and pulled into the nearest parking lot. I could tell that it was running rich as hell by the smell of the exhaust.

I checked for a code with no success. I began to think that it must be the ecu going bad so I decided to unplug and disasemble it. Upon opening it I noticed that the "Main Chip" (the one that you can change) was almost completely unpluged. Poped it back in, reasembled the box, started the car and no more problem.
