exhaust size vs horsepower
How much horepower can different size exhaust systems handle before they become a limiting factor/restriction? I'm pretty sure a 2" system wouldn't support 400hp.
What are the limits of 2", 2.5", and 3" systems?

After extensive dyno testing, a friend of mine who is a well known automotive journalist found that for most applications, you need 2.2 CFM of exhaust flow for every horsepower produced.

Still an open downpipe is going to be a restriction at some point too right?

i would have to say no a downpipe couldnt become restrictive at some point, upgrading is key like 2.5-3-3.5-4'' downpipes will be optimum for the right ammount of psi. obviously the more ammont of air you are pushing the larger the diameter would be and help out

I supposed there could be some restriction, but it will be very very little the least u can have.
