I want to keep the R, but too high insurance, and afraid of thieves...

have you ever driven a s2000? they have smaller interiors than a del sol. Nice driving car though.
I know what you mean though. Its hard to enjoy a car when you are worried someone is going to steal it all the time. If you let it go, you will feel better but then you might miss the car. If you really like the ITR, keep it, but if the s2k does more for you on the street, it's not a bad trade off. but don't sell it becase you are worried about it being stolen.
this doesn't help, does it? hehe!

no, I never drove a s2000.....but worrying about the ITR being stolen is the biggest concern....and since I don't drive it much, its just a waste..

Its a fair trade in terms of street value of both cars. I have owned both and I would take the S2K over the ITR. Its a different car in itself. I suggest you drive the S2K before deciding though.
your for-sale thread says that you're selling the R to save $ for college, so it's not true? if you're really selling b/c you're afraid of theft, then trade it for s2k. i've driven s2k several times, and it's great. but for me, i'd rather keep the R.
How many S2K's do you see driving around? And how many Type R's? I see about 10-15 S2's around the area's I drive to absolutely NO Type R's. If I ever got rid of my R, that little fact would kill me. I love having the R, but not just cause it's hard to find, it's my dream car.
But if theft is big concern for you I would jump on the S2, just remember it is a Honda also, and there are thieves who will cut through that top to get those seats. My girl has an S2 and it is almost as fun to drive as the R.... well, once you get used to rear wheel drive
Either way, good luck with your decision

What year is the S2K?
They are technically better performing cars, but if you're not into organized motorsports, what difference does it make?
Only you can answer the question.

"fun" is very subjective in that sense.

if u are scared about the type-R being stolen, take this into consideration. My uncles s2k was broken into and the seats were stolen. damn thieves cut the roof and got it. Im surprised they dint take the whole car. I think thieves are finally leaning towards the s2k and rsx since those powerplants are becoming more popular. Still gotta keep the R on lockdown though cause u never know.
