it makes some weird noise when i stick in a tape (cuz i hook it up to my ipod using the tape adapter thing), and then ejects the tape after like 5 seconds. tried using a tape cleaner thing; no help.. any suggestions?

 

will it play a regular tape?
Also check your tape adapter. Spin one hole in it and see if the other hole will spin with it. If not the tape player sees a problem with the tape and spits it back out.

Sounds like it's a good time to upgrade then
Having it fixed is just as costly as going with an aftermarket cd player

or you can just get another factory stereo that someone has discarded for cheap as a replacement..
