hey i just finished changing the head gasket on SOHC ZC and it was running fine. after putting it back together and starting it up, i adjusted the valves next morning and it run better but then the timing belt so loose so i adjusted that next before any damage was done to the motor.
i turn the motor it starts up but its running like **** so i check all the grounds theyre fine and it still wouldn't stop shaking like ****. so i do a compression test, all cylinders did around 120-140- psi except on cylinder no.3. NOTHING! what could it be ? if i bent the valves then the rest would have been affected but theyre not. Can anybody help PLEASE!

 

Recheck the valve lash, make sure its in spec. If it is, then you probable have bent valves. But my money would be on the valves being inproperly adjusted.

 

i check the valves and it turns out to be bent. i did this by loosing the lash all the way up to see if the valves would close so i could get at least some compression and still didn't get anything. now i gotta take head off to see how bad theyre bented. it would either be replace the valves that are bent with new valve guides or rebuild the whole head just so i know its all . but i got a Y8 Vtec head sitting at home all apart that might just get that one rebuild if there isn't a big difference in prices . its all already apart and i got most of the new parts it needs for a rebuild like the intake valve guides and both ex/in valve seals
