what paints is the best to use on the engine bay want to paint it red

I was going to use this but its close to orange so taking it back



any good input will help

 

Spray the engine bay with real automotive paint so it matches, and looks good, glossy and stands up well. Or if you are really concered about it you could do the baller setup, and use solaris silver heat reflecting paint like this!
It looks to goofy IMO though, only on a race car.

 

well i want to paint the car black and have the engine bay red IMO I think it would look good I mean I want to know of some paint like spray cans for cheap that will work???....I mean cheap stuff that works good on a budget

 

Clean the engine bay with simple green all purpose cleaner.
Then wash the engine bay with soap and hot water.
Then use a scotch brite pad to ruff it up.
Then use a duplicolor primer, rattle can.
Spray about 2-3 coats a few cans.
Then spray 3-4 coats of your base color duplicolor, rattle can.
Then spray 2 coats of clear, rattle can.

OR

Spend about $200 and have a pro do it

 

That stuff will work, but you have to degrease the engine bay real well. Prep it as if you are going to paint with automotive paint. Don't forget to scuff it will a fine grade sand paper. I would also use a good primer

how much would all that cost only got 40 bucks right now b/c the rest is for the engine

edit: ive cleaned the engine bay pretty good took a while but did it so on to sanding but im still masking things off so should be painted in about a week b/c im the only one working on it

that's clearly orange on the cap. you better hope you didn't spray it already, otherwise, you may not be able to get your $2 refunded.

still, its clearly orange. $2, $10, or $100 you can see that easily.

do it yourself with a duplicolor rattle can

or

have a pro spray it.


i suggest a water color, paint-by-number or a wagner power roller.


there, that leaves you with 5 different ways to paint your bay..... you can always test out those paint chips too.
