ok so i put the vtec sub harness on and had to take it back off and when i pushed the clip to take it off the the hole plastic piece just fell apart. well theres my problem i need to find a knock senor and i price one a honda and they wanted 130 for one. but i think that a Y8, Z6 knock senor is the same so can i use one off another motor i have check Auto zone, and other stores they all say they can get one. i know that i can drive the car without it but i don't want to.

please help

 

I think you can use the B17 GSR (92-93) and they are a bit cheaper I beleive. Hell, you might even find that at a scrap yard. I don't know if an LS one with work.

 

The knock sensor on a friends car did the same thing..
I soldered the tiny wire back together and glued the plastic
back into the metal piece and I guess it worked..
No complaints yet anyway..

I know NAPA sells a replacement and the part # is DKS509
but even with my shop discount it was over 1oo bucks...

 

ls does have a knock senor and there are like 3 black sheeps in my town and non of them are in the junk yard 2 of them run 14.1 and the other is driven by some grandma ( what a waste)

i though the LS motor dont have a knock sensor

 

Cheaper to get your ECU chipped, then disable the knock sensor IMO.

 

ur right about the ls not having a knock senor it was a typo on my reply i got a head of what i was trying to say.
