Hey there Quick Q about this. I think it's the torque rod.
The car - 88 crx si D16a6 cruising at even rpms in any gear you get off the gas a bit then on the gas slightly it feels like the motor is wobbles back and forth.
I think it's called the torque rod . It's the rod that mounts by the shifter and attaches to the tranny/motor. I haven't replaced this bushing but it looks fine.
Any suggestions other than urethane mounts? And is this the torque rod?
Yes I did use the search"temp" and you know you wanna rex although the tl is a sweet thing. you bastard!

That's your shift linkage. You have 4 motor mounts in your car.
1. Drive side engine mount. Only engine mount in the whole car.
2. Passenger side tranny mount. Most visible tranny mount there is, easy to check.
3. Rear tranny mount. Tucked under the intake manifold, holding the area of the diff in the tranny. The most crucial in my opinion for engine stability under load.
4. Front tranny mount. Next to the rad fan, really hard to get to with the fan in the way. The most crutial in my opinion for engine stability off load.
You wanna replace your shift linkage bushing? Go for it, won't make the engine not rock, only the shifter won't have play in it.
EDIT BANDIT: Actually it's not your shift linkage, it's the pivot linkage. It's what allows your shifter to pivot thus shifting gears. It's still part of the shift linkage tho.

Yea I did the motor/tranny! mounts myself and you are correct about them. However next to the shifter there is a rod that mounts up to where the shifter is, (Brainstorm)Thats right, it links the shifter to the tranny so when it rocks so does the shifter. EDIT+You did the same thing
Darn it, I guess thane is going to be the only way out. Here we go again. Unless I get that little shock absorber thing.
Thanks ludesrv

Did you torque the engine mount bolts in the proper sequence? The helms says if you torque them out of sequence you will experience excessive vibration from the motor. I don't know if this has to do with on/off throttle jerkyness, but it's something to look into...
Sequence (refers to single bolt that goes through the center of the bushing):
- Rear mount 43 lb-ft
- Front mount 43 lb-ft
- Passengers mount 40 lb-ft
- Drivers mount 40 lb-ft

- Front mount 43 lb-ft

you might want to try this. quick and easy and totally cheap.

Thanks tyson and 94teg I am doing them both right now, I already have the bolts loose. and jacking up the motor as soon as I borrow the jack from next door.
The glue thing seems to look good too. I was thinking of sliding some rubber on the sides of the l and r mounts but I'm gonna do the hose thing first
THX again , wheel hop, yeah feels like I'm going to toss the motor out of the car.
