Default Welder Recomendations

Been reading alot about different welders etc and I have been wanting to pick one up for awhile. I love being able to do as much of my own work as possible and I think welding is another skill id like to start working on. With that being said id like to get a welder to do common stuff like turbo mani's, header welding, charge piping, exhausts and other light stuff. I would definitely like to get a decent TIG welder especially to start but im unsure what would be best for what id like to do. From what ive seen miller seems to be the best but its also the most expensive, then Lincoln for some has been nothing but problems but they tend to be a little cheaper compared to miller. That leaves Thermal Arc in the middle, which is most likely what im looking for. I am trying to keep costs to a minimum but want something thats fairly versatile but at the same time isnt overboard for what im going to be doing.

Any recomendations are appreciated..

for discussion is the TA P-WeeŽ 130GTS to small? here at the specs:
115/230V; 5-85 Amps (115V), 5-130 Amps (230V); 50/60Hz

I would recommend a class first off. That will get you started in the basics...Then a Hobart Handler 140 MIG is a good starter welder, good quality and isn't a piece of **** like the HF welders.

i may take a Tig class at the college local to me but if i can save myself the $320 a course by purchasing and learning on my own i would prefer to do that.
