Floor Jacks: Which is the best for the money? (Did search)
I am looking to spend about $150 or less. Has anyone used a Craftsman jack or other jack that is available at your local retail store? Which one has the lowest minimum height?
i just use bricks. one day my car fell over because the bricks broke and i almost got crushed, but thats another story for anotehr day.

Walmart special does the job, if you only use it at home.
If you need to carry it around (eg. track, autoX), then get Craftman 2 1/2 ton portable jack with carrying case.

That is really nice. I found this one by Napa. It looks pretty good. Fairly low closed height and almost 20" raised height. http://www.napaonline.com/cgi-bin/nc...&usrcommgrpid=

I know a bunch of people (including myself) got the AC jack a while ago, and everyone seems to be happy. Spend the money to get a nice one. Everytime you go to lift your car you will love it.
I've got a Norco #71230 2 1/4 ton jack. $146 delivered from ontool.com:

It's a rock solid, professional quality jack with a lifetime warranty, unlike the crap that you'll find at Sears. The only real downside is that it weighs 100 lbs...

I got the
Craftsman 3 ton Hydraulic Floor Jack with Stands
$119.99
Sears Item #00950134000
Mfr. Model #50134
I got an extra set of jack stands as well.
The color they had was black and yellow so it's a little different than what you see but it's the same thing. I would like a better one but I really don't have a use for anything else at this point. The jack is really heavy. I use my smaller one instead. So i recommend you get a smaller one. It's more useful.
-Aoib0t, who changed his oil to Neo yesterday. It made a difference.

I could have had a different model, but that was the price and it was 3 ton.
That craftsman one pictured above is what i have, it's cozy, but it DOES fit, sometimes you need to lift the car up a hair (this can be done on the bumper, it really only takes a few mm to get the clearance.) Good jack, heavy, but you can throw it in the hatch for trips to autoX and track, it's much more useful than those mini-jacks. Has a pretty good max. height too, so you can fit under the car nicely.
After a long search (simply typing in AC floor jacks at Yahoo!) I found this: http://www.ultimategarage.com/acjacks.html

Had it, returned it. Would not fit under stock height R.
