Default For those that have removed their front motor mounts…

How was the idle without the front mount installed? Did the car shake under, say, 1000rpm or was it like stock?

I'll be testing something later today, so if anyone has experience, it will help.

you can get the innovative solid mounts, it is made for this type thing

only 3 mounts. there are some fitment issues and its 300 bux. but you already spent some money on a turbo, why not just get these?

I'm trying (well, was trying, I had it off for awhile last night) to figure out why my car is shaking at idle. Reference to this thread that I posted earlier, but didn't get a lot of help on.

The car shook very gently while the front mount was off at low idle. Once I put the mount back on (following the proper Helms bolt order this time), the harsh shaking returned. I have no idea why that's the case.

When was the last time you unleashed vtec? You gotta unleash the beast sometimes you know or else its gets well... I suppose you know eh?

On a more serious note what have you done to your car? Mods, messed with timing? etc... Post that up then maybe someone could help you. If nothing then Your back/side mounts might be bad?

Hehe, too much vtaak lately, don't worry. Right before the last session with the motor mount the car was on the dyno

Engine is stock. Aftermarket header, cat, exhaust, hondata. That's it.

Shaking was not present before I installed the header (which necessitated pulling the front mount). Shaking started right afterwards, even when I was driving around open header for a bit. So I really, really, really doubt it is the other mounts, or anything not related to either the header, or me removing the front mount.

I would be inclined to say it's the header interfering with something, except when the motor mount was completely off, my idle was fine. (or nearly fine). But it's also possible the car wasn't idling low enough. Blah.
