I figured that us late 80's early 90 model Honda owners would appreciate this. It came in on a rollback at work and I knew someone would appreciate some pics. It has a Hondamatic 2 speed auto trans. Its a gem, now for the pics.

At the honda dealer in my town they have a really old civic thing that has the dash mounted shifter just like the newer (kind of) Si's, and it has the 2 stroke motorcycle engine (I am pretty sure!)...

also they have an old SX000 (x= number I can't remember) that is like an S2000 of the old days. Pretty rad stuff.

Most likely an S600

Or an S800

Or even an S500

I want to buy that, and throw in a ITR. Ya, that would be a nice sleeper.

I would love to own an old CVCC with a 5-speed even if it wasn't cherry. Supposed to be pretty bad ***...

PS: What's a "rollback"?

Its a 2spd auto that you have to shift. 1st goes from 0-50mph and 2nd is from there on up. Totally different than what most of us are used to. Never the less still very cool.

BTW A rollback is like a tow truck.

The N360 and up had motorcycle engines w/ dash mounted swivel type shift levers that resemble the 2002-2005 civic si.

did it look like these?

That thing is super clean if it's original. I'm assuming by the newly painted wheels that it's partially restored though, and not all original.

What's wrong with it? I mean why did it get towed there?

BTW, I hate the honda-matic cars. My '79 is one and it took me FOREVER to find a 5 speed pedal assembly that someone was willing to part with!

Unfortunately it sat for awhile and needs alot of work to be a safe mode of transportation. No working gauges other than the speedo, no brake lights, the brakes need work etc. Many of the parts have been discontinued so an OEM Honda restoration is out of the question. Its not my project but its a cool little car.
