Default JDM BB4 cornering lights :)

I had some chance to pick up a complete undamaged system from a JDM BB4 prelude.

On ebay it is sometimes being sold as "side fog lamps", just lamps alone, without harness, without the command module.

They go on with side blinker on and headllights on. Only the side that the blinker is on light up. They are pretty strong, a 21W bulb is used.

The instalation is pretty easy, they just plug in line to right position lamp, both front blinkers and the headlight relay. Everything is in the bumper.

I included also a picture from japanese catalogue.

I might be able to explain this. The normal JDM bumper lamps are actually just reflectors and not lights. I've seen them for sale and on the back there's no places to put a bulb in them, just plastic block off plates. But here in the US, they're already wired up this way. Those clear lenses will look great on your blue car

so theyre just like the usdm but a little brighter? and are they just unique to someone who has the outside lenses that have block offs on them like the jdm's?

Not exactly, these cornering lamps are very deep comparing to usdm side markers. They are deep because there is a mirror inside like in headlamps. The beam they give is quite strong. They use 21W bulb like in rear stop light instead of 5W side marker ones.

^^ You poor poor child! lol

They are Foglight Turning Signals, that understandable??

I think he's saying they are like another/extra foglight that's installed where the corner/turning signals are. So they put light, bright light - refer to 21w buld, out to the side.

^^ Although I could be wrong.. lol

These are not foglights, they just turn on with headlight on and blinker on.

There's nothing common with fog light on or off. You can even not have foglights and have cornering lamps.

That's on ebay where they are sold as side fog lamps because the sellers don't exactly know the purpose (and remove the lamps only, without harness and control module).

One thing I can agree is the beam they give is very flat and precise, so it can be taken as fog lamps by someone who doesn't knnow exactly what is it

Gotcha! So they're like the turning headlights of newer benz's, but they only turn on in the direction of travel when you hit the respective blinker on. Thats pretty pimp!

If anyone else has these, is it possible to just splice them into the existing harness or is the mentioned control module required?
