Default Swapping 12v 194 bulb for LED in a gauge... possible? if so, how?

I got a integra and am running autometer boostgauge and eversince I had it I have tried swapping out the light for 3 different colors, each of them was still dim.
I have heard of people geting much brighter LED's to run off a 12v source and this is exactly what I need to light up the gauge soo that it is somewhat visable.
if anyone has anyideas on how or know anyone who has done this... please give me a hand.

Yes, it's possible and I've done it before. But it was too damn bright so I took them out. Easy but just takes some time. You need either load resistance equalizers or specific resistors in parallel for the LEDs to work properly off the the 12V signal.

standard LEDs are 1.5-3 volt. ultra brights are usually 4 volt.

u need a resistor in series when running it at 12v to limit the current.

theres alot of calculators online to find out how many ohms resistor u need.

I know i have seen them...194 LED bulbs? or did you try that?

A buddy of mine did a full LED coversion in his 2G talon...to match the auto meter cobalt gauges...and id turned out perfect...but it was a LOT of work for him

APC is low quality, I wouldn't run their bulbs either.

My brother had APC bulbs for his corners and then he got some PIAA's... He had one Piaa and one APC... you can tell a world of difference.

You think its because its a rice product, but a bulb is just a lightbulb... I wish the APC's were better because they are cheaper. Maybe you get what you pay for, or maybe you just like to call people idiot's when you are infact an idiot yourself.

Check this site out.... They sell LED bulbs in different sizes, for different cars...

http://autolumination.com/194.htm

http://autolumination.com/74.htm

I know that Integra's use (dc2 or dc4) #194 and Civic (eg6 or ej1) use #24 but #74 will work...
