Default obd1 p13 ecu, code 9, CYP sensor???????

i just triggered my cel some how. it came out as code 9. i looked it up in the chilton's and it says the #1 cyinder position sensor. does anyone know what this could be.

i was told it could be a bad oil pick-up.

any thoughts?

thanks for the input. actually, the cel was triggered while i was driving in the rain on the highway.

do you think the distributor needs to be replaced. it's only about 1.5 years old.

i'm throwing the same code....I think my problem is that I just have some wiring issues to work out....

BTW....how is your car running since you threw code 9?

runs like crap. hesitates like crazy below 3000rpm. and at cruising speeds it jerks on the highway.

vtec still engages. however i can tell the ecu is dumping fuel because the exhaust smell is very noticeable now.

Bad oil pickup?

The Cylinder Position Sensor is a 1 tooth sensor in the distributor. Pull the cap off the distributor and check to see if everything is okay in there.

dirty, thanks for the info. that post on hondaprelude was very helpful.

i haven't been able to get an answer out of anyone. the car's at the shop right now getting my yearly inspection so hopefully i'll get to check it out tomorrow.

do you think i probably skipped a tooth also on the belt like the other guy did?
