which cat to use to pass smog?
i failed my smog and one reason could be my hi-flow cat...wondering what would be a good replacement? someone told me to use a srt-4 cat...is that possible..anyways...which would be a good bet to smog pass with..are cats engine specific or car specific?
Now I live in Austin, and the emissions standards here are most likely less stringent than there in SF, but there are emissions tests nonetheless as of 2005.
With great trepidation I waited, then I got the news that my crx passed by putting out one-tenth of the allowed levels of various emissions here in Austin.
I have quality IHE on my D16A6, along with a $60 magnaflow OE-style cat from Summit Racing. I also changed the oil and retarded the timing.
In the words of the technician "Your car puts out virtually no bad emissions"

i have no idea what brand it is...but i know its hi-flow ive had it for 2 years...ive heard of ppl having 2 cats...is this possible?? one after the header and one somewhere else...correct me if im wrong>>>
just put them right after each other......but you shouldnt have to do that in the 1st place just get a real cat converter and make sure engine is running proper..i mean what engine do you have that you cant pass? is it fully built high compression race engine or a stock motor? a little I-4 running proper with all emisions equipment should have no problems passing..

DUDE, stop with all these ******* threads, you could have asked all these questions on the original one.
like a said before, you need to understand how a car works man, a cat is not going to do **** in your case. You need to get rid of that ecu, get a stock exhaust manifold, get an o2 sensor hooked up, connect yur pcv valve and all the crap you left undone and take it to the REFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are the most hard headed person i have ever come across.
Stop making new threads for the same question you asshat.
