Default the infamous 3rd gear high rpm grind lol

well i have a usdm m2f4 h22 tranny and it just started grinding 3rd couple days ago.. dam shiftlinkage messed it all up, the big rubber bushing that goes to the shift fork thing kept fall out cause i guess its old lol.. well now it grinds but only at high rpm even when i put it in slow...

has anyone ever tried that LUCAS stuff comes in a white bottle, its extremely thick.. like 85/140 any one know if this helps?

im trying to find some GM synchromesh friction formula to buy

dam synchro's.. and i just changed my oil to the lucas, i saw couple very very very little gold shavings so yea..

changing fluid isn't going to fix the problem

i would look into replacing the tranny or rebuilding the one you currently have. it will just get worse and worse

all those fancy fluids/additives are just band-aids

King Motorsports (the guys that sell the real mugen kits) do transmission rebuilds. They also offer REM anti-friction, cryo treatments and carbon coated syncros. This is the way to go! Add an LSD and a Prodrive 4.7 final drive while you are at it.

and err... get that bushing replaced. :D

bleh, buying anything from king is a pipe dream for most of us. Thats at least a grand right there. Too bad they're so expensive, i'd rock that combo right there.

well guys thanks for your input.. lol yea ill just end up gettin carbon coated synchro's if anything from gear-speed.. right now im gonna baby the tranny as long as possible lol

so hard to find these trannies

yea m2f4s are hard to come by, luckily i picked mine up with micropolished syncros and a 4.71 final drive and m2b4 lsd for $1500

try the lucas crap, what can it hurt, also try gm syncromesh.....

yea i have the lucas stuff in it right now its extremely thick.. when the car is cold in the morning.. when i first start it and i engage the clutch and let it idle in nuetral you can feel the thickness of the stuff when the tranny first starts to spin lol...

ima baby it for couple weeks see if this helps it...


when you guys put the gm synchromesh,or lucas in your trannies do you baby then or do you drive it like always ? lol

i went to a hpde track event with track time of like 2.5 hours

the lucas stuff helped.. grinds only now once in a while... ima keep babying it for a while lol.. dont have any money for a rebuild right now
