Default Thumbs up for Hmotorsonline.com

I recieved my JDM H22 today and im very impressed with there service and the quality of the used engine,...so far.I bought this engine due to poor leakdown numbers and 25-30 stallions missing from that stable after a recent tuning session. When i talked to Steve over the phone he said he had a '95 with 33k miles on it,so i bought it for $1375 shipped to my door. The engine is SUPER clean,Here are a few pics.

^^ This was just mentioned in a another thread..

And first, for it to be a '97+ it would be H22A"4" which that.. clearly.. doesn't look like a "4".. at least to me..

But anyways.. It's the Hmotorsonline Stamp.. They stamp their engines. It should look like (HMO)

Very nice and clean.. Hope you enjoy that engine!
Heard a lot of good things about Hmotorsonline.

Don't kill this one..

The '4' stands for 97-01 USDM.

u people are reading too much into the serial number and block stamp, its clearly a 5th gen lude motor, take a look at the p/s pump and hose.

to make sure, just look under the darn exhaust manifold, it will say the year the motor was made (i think even the month/day too)

AsiAnVenOm, i believe your correct about the year of my engine. Here is a pic i just took of the stamp above the exhaust manifold, which reads '96.So does that mean its grom a 5th gen or could it still be from a 4th?My USDM engine stamp says '97 and mt car is a '97.

^^ Wow that had nothing to do with this.. Well, except from being from Hmotors..

A '96 Prelude is OBD2, so if the motor came outta a '96 it's OBD2..

Thank you...those of you that dont know what you talking about should listen and learn.

Anyways...it shouldn't be any problem...it should be the same as an h22a4 open deck except it's set up like the h22a1...with the compression different of a JDM motor...now you gonna have to use all the stuff off of your h22a4...including distributor, injector and oil pump assembly (clk position sensor)...and one different that you shouldn't swap is your knock sensor...the knock sensor plug on the JDM motor is circle while the h22a4 is squar...this is what i did..cut and swap the two plugs so make your h22a4 harness fit the JDM. out of all this...the most difficult or i should say work is the oil pump assembly swap, get all the seals...it was easy...just alot of work...gotta drop the oil pan and all...

Now if you want to swap your JDM oil pan with the A4 oil pan...you need to swap the shields (thin metal) between the oil pick up and the block it self or it wouldn't fit.

Let me know if you need any help during your swap...I did it by myself with about 2 cases of heineken.

The only different between the OBD set up on the engine is the injectors and the distributor and maybe the location of the clk position sensor....so dont sweat about your OBD crap...you can run an OBD2 in an OBD1 configuration or the other way around...without any problem...
