ok so my battery died. due to me leaving the radio on for a really long time while detailing it. so i jump it and drive it down the road. everythings running right but i got up to about 30mph and the speedometer just kept going up until it hit the peg before the numbers start again. i took it home and and shut it off and it just dropped back down a little but is still reading at about 200mph. what the hell happened?

 

what you described is a classic sign of a altenator going out...that could be why your battery died...

 

from what I've read, speedo problems can be the VSS or the gauge cluster itself. Mine does that too and there's a fix on the forums, just search a little. I have to find some time to fix mine.

 

well i checked to see if it could be the alternator and the engines gets pulled down when i turn on the headlights or signals. i take it thats a bad sign.
