Window alignment a little off: how to re-align?
My driver side mirror is a little quirky. Right before it is all the way up, I have to push the tip of it out so it will sit in the groove right. If I just roll it up, the top of the window will be too close to the pass. side by like 1/2 - 1 cm. It's only the top bit, the rest is fine. It's easy to put up with, I just push it out a little and crank it the rest of the way, but I'd rather it be fixed.
Is it an easy fix? Is there like an adjustment I can do?
BTW: I don't know why I'm fixing all the little crap on my car all at once. I guess I just got a second wind. Just did the pass. side corner lamp alignment. Looks good now

F---ing sucks man.. if anyone has ideas on how to get that fixed other than buying new doors.. that would be much appreciated.. HELP US!!!!
lol

Is it sitting in the rubber channels correctly? Is your regulator bent?
There are some botls (4 i think) on the regulator and I believe you can adjust these. That may help.
A bit difficult to know what you're saying without pics because there's a few things that could be wrong...as I've found out while working out my own window BS. All fixed now though.

Hell no, I hate shops. If I can't do this myself, I'm just gonna keep poking it, lol.

What I did when this happened to me was:
Take apart both doors, assuming one side works fine, crank each up and down, figure out what the problem is by comparing the two. Mine was a combination of multiple problems (bent regulator, window tabs positioned incorrectly, rubber channel runner was missing - how? I have no idea). Just do this and you'll figure out what the problem is. Could be as simple as the window not sitting in the rubber channel correctly.

alright...
1) the first thing you should check is the weather stripping. Be sure the weather stripping is seated properly in the grooves. I can't emphasize this enough. Be positively sure the weather stripping is PERFECTLY fitting in every possible area, flip it up if necessary to check. Use a flat head screwdriver to poke in any weather stripping that might have slipped out.
2) If that doesn't work, roll the window almost all the way down and then remove the door panel. After you remove the door panel there is a plastic cover held on by sticky glue. Remove the plastic cover and you should have access to the window.
3) What I like to do is remove the 4 bolts that attach the window to the window regulator (the scissor mechanism that moves the window up and down). The window at that point can be removed. I like to align the window by sliding it along the tracks manually all the way up, then all the way back down, keeping the window flush with the straight track along the side at all times. After sliding it up and down manually, wherever the window lands is the correct/aligned position. At this point reattach the 4 bolts and tighten the window down nice and solid.
4) Diagnosing the problem from here should be relatively obvious. If your regulator is misaligned, then re-align it by loosening the bolts that attach it to the door. You should get a little play this way, maybe enough to help get a little more alignment out of the window. If your regulator is bent, you can try to bend it back, or you might just be SOL and you gotta take a trip to the junkyard for a new regulator.
5) Check to make sure all bolts are tightened down solid. The regulator is attached to the door, be sure that all these bolts are tightened down firm (there could be a few of them). Check to make sure all the tracks are seated properly in the appropriate grooves.
If you follow these steps then it should work. If your weatherstripping is all jacked up already, then you might need new weather stripping to make a window seat properly at the top of the window.
Good luck guys...
