Well I'm going to let go of the Si rims (15's )and go with a new set of 16s. (some kind of Rota-Grid or Rev) what is the best size for a set of 16s where I won't have to worry about wheel clearnce, fender etc etc. Currently right now it's not lowered so nothing, just stock susspension. But I do plan to lower it hopefully this summer maybe some koni yellow and I don't want to have to worry about future problem with the 16s. Do I still have to get camber kit and etc. with the 16s? So what's like the best size and what size tire should I go with? This is a 95 civic coupe thanks!

Also what size will get me good speed will the 16s do?

p.s. Yeah kind of read around with people wanting to go with 17s, not a good idea I take it. I myself don't want to go with 17s unless I'm stupid enough to buy a set without thinking about it

 

You do not need a camber kit, all you need to do is get it aligned and tell the tech to set the toe to 0.00 or as close as he can get. Tire size depends on the width of the wheel. 16x what are we talking about?

So I take it stay away from 17s unless I want to deal with camber kit and etc. right? Because the rota-"Rev" is only in 17s I believe. But yeah 16....16x what is a good size to get?

so if thoretically someone put 17s on their car they'd need a camber kit?? absolutely need one? 17 x 7, the 7 inches being the key i guess, seem to be ok on my car but i'm noob soo idk.... camber kit??

 

get 16's an alignment and putang pie.

 

get a 40 or 45 tire dont get 35 its 2 thin... id do 45 and depends on ur suspension if u need a camber kit if u do a 5 inch drop then ya ull have off camber just do a eibach pro kit or something along those lines and all ull need is an alignment

 

u'll more than likely have to re-align it with a camber kit after a drop...

as far as the tire goes, u'll have to go lower profile (lower side walls), not sure the width of ur rim but for arguments sake I'm going to say it's 185, so a set of 185-45-R16 will fit nice...keep in mind, lower profile tires wear out faster and are usually more expensive to replace

 

I run 16x6.5 rota's and 205/40/16 tires dropped on coilovers with minimal wheel gap...no problems what so ever. I think you are a little confused as to what camber involves, just putting on new wheels won't effect it. Go with 16's and use a tire calculator to try and get a close to stock diameter as possible.

Okay I hope everyone got the question, that I want to know 16x (times) what is a good size rim? Example 16x6.5? Well not that I'm confused, just that I really don't know about it and rather find out from what people who have done or who know to not go with the rims that don't fit needing camber kit /other problems that I will have, buying the rims. "just putting on new wheels won't effect it" that I know becasue my stock is a 14 and the SI rims are 15 it's just a bolt on but because they're smaller than a 16 I know it wouldn't effect my ride. But if it's a size 16 I'm not sure I know. So you think a 16x6.5 would be a good sizes? Or what is a good size that will give me good speed depending on my tires? I don't really plan to do 5 different sets of rims just one or two. Thanks the help you gave was somewhat what I'm looking for. I'll try the link as well.

YES I do plan to drop it so that's why I'm asking 16x whta is a good size as well as tire size, which I know depends on the rims.

 

Biggest i would go on a civic is 16's IMO and as for dropped and size of rims, whether it be 16's or 17's you can't go wider then 215, most people with 225 rub when they lower their stance, and have to roll their fenders. I think 205 is plenty wide, and as I said before I am running 16x6.5's with 205/40/16's with no problems(they fit the rims perfectly as well). Also I believe most 16's come 16x6.5 so you just have to decide what size tire you want, so use that link I gave you to guess and check which size will give you closest to stock stance, ie: 205/45/16, 205/40/16, 195/50/16, etc. Also if you go low-pro don't cheap out on tires, the better ones actually protect the rim with stronger sidewalls so you don't bend them.

As for camber when you drop it, it will depend on your car, mine is dropped 2" and doesn't need a camber kit. Tire wear is even all around, I just got an alignment and saved the money. Speed won't be affected if you stick with stock diameter, meaning your spedometer will still be on, that link will help you on all that.

 

205/40/16 will be your best choice.
215/45/16 is a little bigger and tires are more expensive in this size. these *might* rub depending on how low your car is.

 

i run 205/45/16, but the offset on my wheels are a little more than rotas or whatnot, i am dropped, but not slammed.

a little fender rolling here, and i dont scrape under normal driving. however if i pull a fast U turn or something along those lines, i rub. real men rub

 

Go to discount tires.com they have all that info, but off the top of my head I do believe It's 16x6.5 and 205/40/16 like some else mentioned but you can also use 205/45/16 that just mean a taller tire size.
