94-97 accord torque converter
ok guys i have a 94 accord ex (f22) and i watched it go away on a roll back today (most sad sight imaginable) because i heard an odd sound when i put it into reverse, drive, 1,2, or 3. I coasted in neutral into my parking spot at work today because the jerking and sound worsened. When i first take off it has a slight jerk but after 1750rpm it is smooth as ever. Even when i slow down and the auto tranny shifts back into first and sometimes second it has that slight jerk and the sound is louder. I have already put a brand new tranny in it about 35,000 miles ago and I am getting it checked out as we speak but i will not know anything until tomorrow. I would like to be more educated on what the problem could be before some redneck at the local tranny shop tries to take me for a ride. I assume that the torque converter is screwed but if i could get some tranny expertise is would be very much appreciated!
I'm not new to hondas, but sorta new to accords....a buddy of mine had a 94 EX auto and he put 3 tranny's in that car by the time he traded it in. Does that gen/accord have a lot of probs with autos?
no not compared to american cars. I am at 144K and still on original trans and I am always up on the tach on that car...trick is to let it run for a min before you drive off and change fluid once a year..and repair any leaks asap. (mine has never leaked)
