Default What Low-Position seat rails for bucket seats do you use?

Im currently in a dilemma. I upgraded my seats to Recaro Pole Position seats but now my Memoryfab/Vison style low-position rails wont work. the bottom of my new seat is too wide, about "17.

My question what low position rails are you guys using on your bucket seats? Bride/Mugen/Spoon?
Im not really interested in the standard sparco sidemount/slider/floor brace combo because I'm '6"3 and need as much clearance as possible.

Ive been looking at the A-Sport ones but at $370 each after shipping is kind of straying me away

heres some pics of the A-Sports I'm considering

I would suggest you consider letting Steve @ Corner 3 Garage (stock steve) fab something up for you.

If mugen rails fit, I highly recommend you use those

I pretty much have the same seat as Guilotine, but mine is the "Racer" (what a name...)

I bought the Mugen rails in hopes it would fit and was severely disappointed...the seat is too wide.

They actually fit worse than my current Bride's that I had massaged by my cage builder but I am a "short" 5 foot 10 and I just deal with it now.

I intend to hack my Bride sliders up once more and just make custom sidemounts like the ones on the Vision superlows and even the A-Sport shown....but I am still unconvinced they will work.

my advice is also to get custom....or if you're lucky enough...to truck your seat around to a place that will let you mount up...

seems that all the JDM rails only fit JDM sized butts....the narrow versions of our seats....

guilotine - i'd bet raging angel is right about the mugen rails not fitting. just in case, i use the recaro profi spg (see pic below) with the mugen s1 sliders.

check out your dimensions with this diagram. this came with my seat...

long story short, if your seat has the same dimensions (particularly the width), the mugen sliders should fit. HOWEVER, i can only mount my seat on the upper holes on the mugen rails. my spg tapers too wide and hence throws the rail mounting points ouf of alignment. i know you have a concern with your seat height since you're 6'-3". for me, the seat height is great (but i am quite short...). some taller people probably won't have an issue.

sorry if this is totally confusing...pm me if you have any questions.

Look into the Tanabe rails. That's what I ended up using with my Spoon seat. I couldn't get a hold of the Spoon rail for the left side. Just when I though I wasn't gonna find another comparable rail, bam!!!!!! Tanabe worked. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

On my recaros that I just sold, I had the height adjustable recaro brackets. Also had the recaro sliders. The system worked well. The height adjustable brackets I think are around $90.00 a side. Gives you about... 1 3/8" of adjustability between the top/middle/bottom mounting holes.

I don't know if that is enough for you, however.

I use Bride seat rails for my holding monster, they are 3 height adjustable, I set my driver side the lowest for best position and " racing feel " . It's a bit lower but when you look outside not too bad

$ 175 per side, not including tax and shipping, and needs to have a local authorize dealler to help you out , unless for ebay or local shop in stock

Thanks for all the replies and pictures guys, they have been very helpful

I was considering using the Mugen rails and leaving the spacer out since, thats exactly what my brother did and it barely worked.

The Mr. Alex and Tanabe seat rails sound and nice. Does anybody have pictures of the

Tanabe rails? or price for the mr.Alex and Tanabe rails?

Thanks again...the ITR forum is the best

I'm using Mugen right now...........it looks as if you had Recaro sidemounts u could bolt them to ur existing rails....actually I'm almost positive it will work....that way you only have to spend 50 bucks not 700.....I actually have a set of Recaro sidemounts...........I'll send them to you to play with and if they fit then send me 50 if they dont send em back to me.....I think at most.....you will have to drill a hole in my sidemount to get it to mount to your rail.

Kepani helped me out on my choice as well. Using the Recaro SPG with Mugen Rails. I'm 6' (possibly closer to 6'1" now) and even on the upper hole it lowered the seat at least an inch from stock height. I'm also considering looking into possibly finding a way to use the lower holes, from what it seemed on mine the harness hole plastic surround piece was the only thing blocking the lower holes (easily fixed).

Anyway heres a pic:

I paid about $180 for my Tanabe rail. I'm 6'4" and I sit VERY low with this rail. My eyes are just barely above the steering wheel. At first I was afraid I'd be too low, but I got used to it in about 3 days. Now anytime I drive any other car, I feel waaaaay too high!!! lol
I wish all seats could sit as low as mine. I'll get some pics of the seat/rail, but I don't know how to post pics on here

I am using the Bride Seat rails on my seats. I am shorter than you are Gil, but I still have good head clearance with my helmet on.

The Bride Seat rails were pretty expensive though at about $300CAD each set.

I have the same rails for my Vision seat. Its the the j's racing/ a sport. They are much wider then the vision. And they werent that much. About $175 a per side.

Only pic I have at the moment, but they worked with my boarders seat also.

I just got my seat from Tony at JHP. Zeta 3 with Bride rails in the middle setting, sits perfect.
