RSX interest....
Im looking really seriously into buying an RSX. I was thinking at first getting a Type S but I need something that'll just get me place to place, a nice ride, looks good and is good on gas. So, Ill probably be looking more towards the RSX base model....if the right price on a type S comes by then I would obviously jump all over it. When I was in college I would have been all about the Type S but I've grown out of that stage of my life and I just want something reliable and affordable right now. I've got a great job so financing one would be no trouble at all...especially with my credit history.
What I am asking basically is if anyone could throw out some pointers on what to look for....things I should check when purchasing one. I've owned a GSR for 3 years now and its boosted....Im currently selling it and I know the car up and down but I don't really know that much about the RSX. Im convinced that it is the car I want I just have to find the right deal and the right car.
Thanks
and sorry if I sound likea newb...highly educated on the integra...not educated at all on the RSX.

Bro trust me. the minute you get away from your GS-R and get the base model, you will be kicking your self in the *** because you will miss that GS-R. i mean you probably will want to get away from it but at least get the Type S. I use to have a base model and i just wanted to get a Type S after about a month of owning the base model. RSX is a really nice and fun car. get the type s. i thought i was away from that point of my life too. in between my base and my type s i got a 00 bmw 3 series, i traded it in a month later for a type s and now i am completely happy. dont F*** yourself and get a base. GO FOR THE S

if you have truly 'grown out' of that stage, than the rsx seems like it fits all your requirements.
i dont recall of any major issues with the base model rsx's.. they are sexy cars

to be honest if u are looking for something that will get u from place to place, and since u say you have grown out of that stage in ur life i would go for the TSX its an amazingly comftarble car but if u want more preformance go for the TYPE S or even the TL but thats my 2 cents do what ever floats your boat. i love my o2 type s

Yeah, but the Type S requires premium
I like making my boyfriend miserable by pointing out that I'm happily chugging along on regular when he has to feed BOTH his cars with premium. Especially with the way gas prices are now...

Love my base model. As for performance, yeah it kinda lacks here and there, but will still get up and go when you want it to. I am a sales rep for a wine distributor and I drive over 500 miles a week getting more than 30mpg! would not trade that for the world...
I agree with whomever mentioned the TSX.
But as for gas mileage, I drive a fairly modified type-s and I get 34-35 mpg on the interstate and around 29-30 in town....

well if youre downgrading from a b00sted gs-r to an rsx, id at least get the type-s model...
what you should know though is theres only a few differences: the years 2002-2004 the type-s has 201hp @ 7800. the 2005 model had 210 @ 7800 and the 2006 went back down to 201. FYI thats all!

the base model rsx and the type s do each have its own uniqueness.... for me i like the type s... my friend drives a base... but u kno what its all about preference and what you are trying to get out of the car.

The 2006 only went down to 201 because of revised SAE rating standards. There's no actual change in power.

It's not like they handle differently. The Type-S has more power, a 6-speed, leather seats, and a Type-S badge. Also weighs a little more. Other than that, yeah, they're pretty much the same car. If you ask my opinion though, it is well worth the 2-3K premium for a type-S if you want an RSX.
