hey everyone, this started happening about a week ago...the e brake light on the gauges stays on even after i let go of it...it goes away maybe about half an hour later when im driving?..what could it be?
hahahaha..mine does that too. sometimes when weather is cold or rain hard.
i will check brake line, pad, rotor when i do brake job.
btw, it doesnt bother me anymore.lol

its the filter in your brake fluid reservoir. take the cap off the reservoir and put it back on. this is a temporary fix but it will fix it for a while. this problem usually only occurs when the weather is cold. only way to fix it for good is to replace it but that costs money. it happens on my car and this is the way i fix it, only happens a couple of times a year.

Please inform me where this 'filter' is. The only reason for the light to illuminate is if the contact switch at the parking brake is messed up or the brake fluid level has dropped a significant amount.
On the poor advice!

im located in so cal and its about 85 degrees down here and nights about 65. i dont consider this being cold and everytime i put the e brake down the light still stays on. You are saying i should replace the filter?

why don't you take a look before you say its poor advice. there is a TSB that shows this information about a COMMON PROBLEM with integra's.
why don't you read up on this common problem about integra's before posting information that you think is correct. someone like you is going to mislead people.
don't believe me? check this link out:

any other bright ideas you would like to share with us? maybe you should think about the next idea's before you post...
don't feel like taking the time to do research before you post poor information? here's an overview...
"I checked TSB's today and found one that concerns the brake indicator light coming on for a while after a cold start and then going off. I have seen numerous posts about this.
There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) concerning this. The number is 03-029. The fluid reservoir filter is replaced. "The filter is not allowing the cap to vent properly, causing the fluid level to change."
You can just remove the filter. The filter only filters fluid that is added to the system. I removed mine long ago when I discovered this since I don't pour in contaminated fluid, and I am mass reduction obsessed.
Well, I guess I am taking a chance as new fluid could have crap in it.
I haven't had the filter for 5 years and 65,000 miles - no problems. If you study the design, the only way for the filter to filter anything is when fluid is poured in. The fluid cannot flow through it during normal operation.
The filter assembly lifts right out. It is the plastic mesh screen in the middle that funnels out to meet the edge of the reservoir. At first glance, you might not see how to remove it as it seems to be built in."
When asked how to remove this filter:
"It will appear to be part of the reservoir. It is a sleeve inserted into the reservoir.
Here is one way to take it out that may help you visualize: insert your finger into the middle of the reservoir, move it over until it is touching the side, lift your finger straight up while maintaining contact with the side."
any questions?

Well why didn't you post that before? Clearly your second post looks a lot more legit than your first:
"its the filter in your brake fluid reservoir. take the cap off the reservoir and put it back on. this is a temporary fix but it will fix it for a while."
"why don't you read up on this common problem about integra's before posting information that you think is correct. someone like you is going to mislead people."
I believe I said low fluid could be causing the problem as well... I DO NOT see how that could be misleading someone whatsoever. If anything, that's LEADING someone in the right direction.
