if u want to kill the pressure, just take out your gas cap.

Im intalling a gauge on the fuel filter and do not want to get sprayed. How is taking off the gas cap going to relieve pressure to the fuel system?

just let the car sit for a while after you drive it...the pressure should go down, its going to leak a little bit of gas, but not "spray"
