Default 4th Gen clock dimming

already searched and found nothing

its not a problem i have its a question. in my 92 S, everytime i turn on the headlights, the clock dims. it really gets on my nerves when im driving to work in the morning and have my headlights on and sun in my face so i cant see the clock cause its so dim.

is there a way that i can wire the clock to dim as i please? like the gas and engine temp gauges theyre bright as **** all the time until you dim them with the switch. any insight is appreciated at this point. im not sure if its something you can or cannot do or if theres a kit or something..?

and dont say "dont turn on your headlights in the morning" as a fix cause i live in one of the busiest parts of eastern VA so i like to have them on so other retards dont hit me.

my 94 lude has the adjuster where you can 'undim' whole dash. no matter the lights are on or off. 92 doesnt have that option. you can only adjust the dash light diming level, u cant fully undim it. sorry for my bad english

hp92lude, arent you the one from 92lude.com? nice to see you here

VAPOG!

there should be a dimming rotary on the left, it rolls all the way up and clicks to undim the dash lights. yours may have the same issue mine does - it doesn't fully click anymore, so I can't undim the dash fully. If you have that dial on the left (by sunroof switch) then it needs replacing is all

that dimmer doesn't work on the clock.. I don't know why... but it does all the other gauges and even the climate control... but for some reason not the clock.

oh yeah, good call.
My dimmer's been broken so long I must have forgot. Plus every time my car is on, my clock just nonstop scrolls through the hours, so it's also broken. good thing there's a clock in the head unit.

It is pretty easy to modify: cut the red/blk wire going to the clock and solder from clock side to red/blk going to temp/gas gauges.

I've got the same problem. Only, I won't cut me wiring b/c when I do so, at daytime the dashlights are fine, but at night it's much to bright.

So can I just replace my switch with the one with the click on it? (I think it was on models after '94??)

And I so..where to get it?? I searched H-T, Ebay, Junkjards, Hondaautomotiveparts.com. Can't find it anywhere. I pretty sure someone as hondaautomotiveparts.com should sell those switches, but I can't find it. I searched all their sections... Can someone help me out please? Thx

What year do you have? I have it on my '92.

I would say hondaautomtiveparts.com would be about the simplest.

EDIT: Ebay

Majestic Honda

I have a '92 prelude. Thanks for the links and your help...

I'm ordering some stuff from hondaautomotiveparts.com at the moment...so I will add the switch to my order.

But just to make sure. Which one is it from Majestic Honda. The one with part# 110703 (51.54 usd)??
