Skunk2 Racing takes its second win of the season, and first of the NHRA
Summit Sport Compact series. At the season opener at Gainesville Raceway,
Tony Shagday set the precedent with his number qualifying run of 11.15 ET
and 1.8 60-ft. In the first round, Tony was able to lower his ET to 10.92
ET at 124.93 MPH. The difference came when Steve Rothenbuehler, chief
mechanic, made some suspension adjustments in between qualifying rounds and
the start of the eliminations. In the semi-finals, Tony showed the crowd
how great of a driver he is by matching his last-round ET with another
10.92 ET at 124.67 MPH. In the final round, Tony drove the Skunk2 Racing
Integra to a victory with a 10.89 ET @ 124.46 MPH - which established a new
national class record for ET and MPH - and walked away with the coveted
Wally trophy.

I think their hungry to take the Quickest All Motor title back. This is going to be one hell of a year!

 

Ari almost got beat in the street class as well. His 10.38 record didn't last long as the Titan Supra blasted a 9.52@156 ON DRAG RADIALS (no nos). Lost in the finals after the veteran took his sweet time at the line (30 seconds) to stage. All in all it was a fun weekend but I am toasted.

 

Yeah, all the races were real good. Hot Rod was cool as crap with 5 cars in the mid to low 9's. JoJo with a 9.03
