Default Skunk 2 Exhaust question

Hey I have a 99 civic si and I bought a skunk 2 cat back exhaust a while ago. My question is on the skunk 2 exhaust there is a resonator towards the muffler, can i cut that out and put a piece of straight pipe in there? Or will it effect the computer and throw a CEL or will I be ok? Does anyone know?

leave it in.. your car will sound like crap and will be a great deal raspier. when i had my civic w/ greddy( similiar to skunk2) exhaust it was barely below the legal limit. skunk2 is also a loud exhuast and removing the resonator may make it louder than the 95db limit causing you to fail emissions.

I removed the pipe because I kept bottoming out with it everywhere. Not too sure about the cel, cuz I'm running on OBD1.

I agree with skate, it does become raspier (especially around 3-4k)... but it screams when VTEC engages. It becomes a pain on the ears after awhile though.
