Axle seated properly?
I just replaced my axles on my 90 DX and am wondering if the driver's side axle is in all the way (on the transmission end). It looks to be out further than the passenger side, but I can't get it to move any more. When the passenger side went in all the way, it clicked and I was positive it was in. Is there a trick to seating it properly? I don't want it popping out at the next auto-x.
what i had to do to get mine in was compress both cv joints and pound on the axle nut end of the axle with a dead blow hammer. a few good smacks with the hammer and they popped right in.
a good way to see if they are in all the way is to pull on them. if you can't pull them out, you should be fine (i always have to pry mine out with a big screwdriver...)

...I dont know if that's so good for the axle... I always just sit there and rotate it back and forth and push on it and it eventually snaps in...for whatever reaon, one's always easy and one's always a bitch
Yeah just move it around until it snaps in. I usually have one that is a pain to get out and another that is real easy also. It is the same way trying to put them back in.
you just gotta take it in and out untill you find the "sweet spot" and it will slide all the way in. they should never be forced in, be gentel they will just click right in.
