car idles low then dies

Default car idles low then dies

well after getting my 90 dx for 600 bucks it starting to act up...the problem is when i come up to a stop light the rpm drops below 1 then sometimes it shoots back up to around 1 then sometimes it just dies...any idea on what it could be the lights dont dim so its not the alternator...

timing isn't retarded or advanced everything is stock besides some bolt ons

oops the 0 was a accident my computer messed up....im not sure on what the timing is set at...im pretty sure it has nothin to do w/ timing cause other then this the cars fine idles right where its suppose to and no problems besides this idling problem which only happens everyonce in a while

alright will do that after work...meanwhile any other inputs....the car does have a adjustable cam gear put on by the owner b4 me

check timing, make sure timing is set to stock, then set cam gear to 0.

i would think that if it was timing the problem would happpen everytime i drove the car but it only happens at random times not all the time....i dont know what degree stock timing is suppose to be set at...and also you say if i dont want dont ******* post come on just cause i asked for other opinions on this matter dont mean you have to go saying **** like that i believe this is a open forum which means others are more then welcome to put there input in on matters as well and doesn't mean your answer is right

dude, i am telling you CHECK YOUR TIMING FOR A REASON. you are coming here for HELP, you just admitted you dont know **** about timing. have someone check your timing for you. it should be set between 14-18 BTDC. if its not, there is your problem. just because its "random" does not mean its not a timing problem. check your damn timing already.

check your throttle position sensor make sure its plugged in all the way other then that i have the same problem with the low idle my car however doesnt die... he is very right however it can easily be your timing, but if you think not check the tps and the eacv
