'92-95 Civic Vtec solenoid same as '96-00?

As stated on the title, are the Vtec solenoids aka Spool Valve the same for EG and EK Civic models?

Right off the bat, I'm going to say no. The wiring on EGs (92-95) is OBD1 while on EKs (96-00) it's obd2. I can foresee a problem right there.

When I put the obd1 b16a into my 99 civic ex, the wire from my obd2b harness plugged right into the solenoid and it works fine. I don't know if they are the same or not though.

Im thinking that the plug sensor on the Solenoid is different but I have a feeling the housing will bolt up fine to the head. Anybody agree?
