So it was suggested to me that i repost this over here in the Fab section since you guys like checking out fab work 
so here it is

So once again, we're tweaking with Tweak (Jonny_Blacks car)... lol! Only this time, things are getting juuuuust a bit more serious in the intercooler-department
Today we're installing a manifold that i've had laying around for a while... it'll allow him to finally have a/c back. Also, we're installing a PWR liquid-air intercooler that i've also had laying around forever, to replace his air-air one.
So, for now, all i have done fabrication wise is a single mount for the intercooler, and the cold-side charge piping... still needs to be finish-welded of course, as it is just tacked together for now, but it was already looking cool enough, i figured i'd go ahead and start a thread about it.. hehe.
Anyway, enjoy the pics! I'll post more up here as we get this turbo setup done on his car.. should only be another few days working at it after-hours and stuff

Ok, so after a few hours spent tonight after-hours messing with it, I have the intercooler and charge piping made... all 1 piece to That is a very nice thing about this setup... less couplers to have that can blow off... actually, with this setup, it'll be impossible to blow off a coupling, because it simply won't be able to move enough to do it.. hehe. How bout some pictures?
So, here i am welding up the setup:
And here it is completed... the only thing left to do, is add the BOV flange, which i'll have tomorrow, and we're set!

Yes, there is a welded seam that runs right down the middle of this piece... but its nice and smooth looking now :

Anyway, next up is to rebuild the condensor support with something more 'custom', mount the heat exchanger for the water lines, mount the water pump, and build a water tank out of aluminum... good times 8)

Ok, so a couple weeks of B.S.'ing later.... the 'after-school/work-project' of Jonny_Black's "Tweak" is finally done... yAy!
It sucks not having a really broad schedule where we can really spend time on this, because all in all, there were only about 5-6 total days of 'actual' work involved in putting this deal together if you add up the hours spent.
So anyhoo, here are the latest updated pics... there is a bit of a gap between the pics taken last and these, simply because i usually never had my camera handy, or actually wanted to take pictures from being too tired... haha!

Custom intake filter tube... you'd laugh yer butts off if you knew how i made that transition from 3" to 4"... haha!
Here you can see the water box i made for the car... it fits nicely, and is pocketed/shelved/stepped underneath to clear things like the headlight bulbs and wheelwell:
You can sorta see into the water box here, and see the steps and shelves under it:
Nice shot of both very custom transitions side by side installed... man, they look great from this angle... too bad it'll be covered up by the radiator most of the time:

It was definitely a fun project to work on... the car runs great! It has a couple of things that we're going to fix and do next weekend, but all in all, not bad for an after-hours fun project, eh? haha!

Before i get a bunch of comments about it..... Yes, i know about the water on top of the tank coming from a bolt... thats been settled already... hehe

For now, it is just a stock B16A... nothing else done to it. The turbo is a small T3, nothing huge... the last time we had it on the dyno, i think it was putting out something like 250whp, and 175lbft, at about 10psi... i could be off on that tq number a bit. But its a REAL fun car down low

Dturbocivic: Now now Dave... one thing at a time the turbo kit is first, and the next project is getting the a/c back in. We have to make custom lines and so forth for it, and he's gotta save up a few more $$ before that happens... but at least now he has the option, whereas before, there was no chance.
Oh, and no, not a funnel... actually, i grabbed a cap from one of my argon cylinders, and using my hydrauilic press, i pressed a section of 3" tubing down on top of the cap, which formed it out all the way to 4"... i was surprised it worked as well as it did.. lol.
b16hybridsol: We'll find out sometime later this week. He ordered an intake temp gauge, and we'll proibably be installing it this weekend. He is running the car on ZDyne GOLD, so the ECU doesn't have any logging features to log it off of the OEM sensor and tell us.

thanks guys, this car is amazing..john is amazing..and his work is amazing. I have had this setup in my head for a long time, and luckly we could finally get it done. I am very curous to what the intake temps are also, so I am really looking forward to getting that gauge. If anybody else has one on there car I would be very interested to know what they are seeing as well. N/A and/or FI..doesn't matter.

Beautiful work! The only thing I would've done different is <u>not</u> brace the air-to-water cooler on the frame. Engine torquing could snap that bracket.... or just get a "hump" style coupler on the TB to minimize the risk. Great fab work nonetheless!!!!!!

im tad confused on the setup. are you using the engine coolant for the water? it looks like you have the water tank hooked to the coolant port on the head.
if so i have a few questions.
why use the hot coolant?
why would you even need a seperate tank and water pump if its tied into the coolant sistem?
with WAIC setups i always think of a completely independent system outside the engines coolant, so the water will be cooler, and you need the seperate things like pump and tank and all that

I'm a little sad, you left out the best picture of Jonny , or was it left out for a reason .
As I said in the other topic, looks good as always, but I can't wait to see the a/c line routing, something different thats for sure.
