HELP!! Car won't start after pumping FULL TANK!!!
Ok, I pumped my car full tank last night and afterwards it wouldn't start. It would crank but no start. After a several times of trying to start, the car would start and then just choke and die off. Then I tried it again and pushed the gas pedal a lil bit at a time to keep it from dying, and it ran. Has anyone had this problem before? This is a 00 Civic with a B18c motor. This only happens when I pump full tank. I remember recently when I changed my suspensions that I accidently left a jack under the gas tank while lowering the car and I dented the gas tank (OUCH). Hopefully someone knows what might be happening here. Thanks in advanced.

This won't achieve anything other than wasting fuel.
Besides, 93 octane isn't even sold in California. The highest they have is 91.

it's prolly trippin some sensor due to the dent displacing the gas tank...
I would just NOT fill it up all the way
EDIT:
Or, if u want the other way, replace the gas tank, it'll work fine then

Doubt it. I had a dented gas tank until I sold my old Civic.

This use to happen ramdomly with my 00 si, but it was turbod and running on a basemap with 550's so im guessing that is why it did it. I never really thought it was a big deal just sucked starting after filling up sometimes.
It's a big deal when the car completely doesn't start anymore. When a problem arises I wanna know how to prevent it from being an even bigger problem. I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of the street.
Another thing, about a week ago, after filling it up FULL TANK, I drove off and the car shut off and I started it again and it drove sluggish in the beginning then drove normally. Then about 3 miles it shut off again and I started it back again and drove fine.

That's not it, there's sometimes when it runs fine, if the fuel filter was clogged to the point where it couldn't run fine, it wouldn't run fine some of the time, same if the fuel pressure isn't adequit(sp?).

you need to check your fuel filter, and your fuel pump. This could be signs that they are faulty or getting there. Check the relay to the pump.
If this checks out fine, then you check your fuel lines to your injectors. Then your injectors .
Simple follow through.

If the station recently switche dover to E10, or if it the first tank of E10 in your car, that could be a problem. Ethonal atracts water and cleans every thing. this will mess you fuel filter and engine up.
