Bedding rotors and pads on a race car?
I was going to install new pads and rotors on the race car after I got back from the cage man. I was reading about proper bedding and mating, but it seems like that's for street cars, so I was wondering how those of you who have race cars bed your pads and rotors.
If you have an opportunity to have a light track session on them with as one person put it one lap where you hammer down at the end and then let them cool, I think that is ideal.
I street bed and track bed my pads. One time I did not and did a few light laps and then put the hammer down and it pissed off/hotspotted my rotors. Nothing more fun than brake shudder.
If you can street bed them by doing repeated slowdowns from 60 mph down to about 10mph. Once I can smell the pads I then drive them home and let them cool. I then do one light session at the track at 5/10th for a few laps with a final hard lap and then let them cool. That is my preferred method.

I put on the new rotors with the old pads and do few laps light braking. I then change to the new pads and do few more laps. and my brakes are perfect.

I use warm up for bedding in my brakes, but I have put new brakes on right before a race too..
If im right your doin HPDE's right?. Just put the pads on the car, when you go out for your first session just take it easy (you should for your first session anyhow). During your cool down lap dont touch the brakes at all.
