Default 92 civic brakes on a 91 crx si

will they fit? i have a 95 civic dx parts car i was wondering if the calipers and rotors would swap over, also are the dx brakes smaller than the ex? the rotors are warped on the crx and it needs new pads it would be nice to be able to swap these over the civic has cross drilled rotors and ebc green pads... save me some money and be an upgrade to stopping power

for one WHY?

for two, cross drilled is bad and EBC pads suck on the street.

i like the ebc greens man, its the first time i tried them they dont have as much bite as the last set of hawk hps's i had but they are definitely a good pad... secondly i owe a lot of money right now so if i could use these civic rotors the cost savings would be a nice thing, also i heard somewhere that the civic calipers were better?

you heard wrong, and the heat range for EBC greens is way too high for the street. EBC greens warp rotors.

Yes the DX brakes are smaller than the EX.

will the rotors work? i measured them and they seem to be the same as the crx's as far as diameter and thickness

no, and those rotors are garbage. cross drilled rotors UNLESS THEY ARE CAST THAT WAY, cause more harm then anything.

why would they cause harm? helping to dissapate heat is a good thing, and the hole is chamferred so that it won't eat into the pad... only loss i can see is surface area, but with as few holes as it has and the size of the holes i think that would be negligible. i dont see it sacrificing the integrity of the disc either.

the "integrity" of the disc IS affected, whether youd like to see it or not. every crossdrilled rotor ive seen on a car that has been tracked (theres not many because most ppl know not to use them) develop cracks around the holes. its not hearsay, ive seen it.

theres no reason for cross drilled other than looks. honestly, thats fine, im not knocking you if you like the looks and want to pay a lot of money for it. but it wont function any better and is a liability in the long run, especially if you like to drive (and brake) hard.

the benefits of cross drilled are 1) weight reduction 2) increased surface area for heat dissapation. both are negligible in any street driven car, including porsches. they do it for looks, everyone knows that.

ebc greens suck. plain and simple. so many better pads available. try axxis ultimates or hawk hp+.

word. i wish i could find the thread on maxima (was it?) forums about cross drilled rotors. slotted has funtion, but again, on a street car, its negligable. save your money and buy blanks.

i loved the hawk hps pads i had on my last set, i dont think the ebc's are a bad pad but the hawks were better pads imo... what brands would u recommend trying, or should i just go back to the hawks for my next set?

see thats all fine and dandy but in this case using the cross-drilled rotors would be saving me money, since i already have them.

saving money is not a good reason to put a piece of **** on your car. do it right the first time or dont do it at all.

it is when you're in debt and have more important places where your money needs to be spent. those rotors would work much better and be safer than the ones on there, which are warped and vibrate under hard braking.

um, braking=safety. if you think that some other stupid bullshit is worth more then your life, by all means, end yourself now and spare the CRX. otherwise do it right.

do what you want to do. you have our opinion. we're just trying to correct some of the misconceptions we think you have.

i've been trying to sell a lot of these parts i have laying around but i'm still looking for a good outlet to move parts fast. anybody ever tried selling stock body/motor/suspension parts on ebay? i've been thinking about putting some stuff on there, i've heard its a good way to get it sold fast, however shipping parts like transmissions, blocks, etc. would be a major pain in the ***...
