Default hey guys some safety help plz.

so my usual mechanic is away for a bit...im turning to u guys for some help. in order for him to safety my car i need rear control arm bushings ( which i already ordered) and he said i needed front balljoint bushings. the front bushings i was unable to find...are these the same as ball joint dust boots? need to kno so i can order. thanks.

I am not sure what you mean by front balljoint bushings.

There are ball joints on the knuckle, the upper arm, and the tierod end. I think it is best to just get a whole new tierod end or upper arm if the ball joint is bad on one of those. If the ball joint on the knuckle is bad, you should just buy a ball joint for it.

There are of course bushings on the front lower control arm. Are you talking about those?

thoe might be wut is needed...i might just buy new ball joints and new control arm bushings anyways thanks

Might aswell replace the ball joint if your replacing a bushing. They are a pain in the *** when they break cause you basically lose your wheel and more then always do alot of damage to the fender, well, if it goes bad at 120kmh on the highway and the ball joint doesnt fall on your wheel like my friend had happen, you end up doing 120kmh into a freaking pole and total your 1995 VR6 swapped Golf.

ok then i'll just replace both ball joint...my friends snapped once...thank god we were in the parking lot, he was turing his wheel and the passenger side just dropped a few inches, got out and his wheel was jammed up into his wheelwell.
