Default Piping size?

hi guys...i just got my H22A dumped in and running. but the SI piping doesnt fit the H22A header..

anyways.. just wondering...what brand of aftermarket Extractors are good? and what size should the piping be? 2.25'' or 2.5''?

need opinions on this real quick because i have to get the piping done this week.

thanks!

and some sites on where to buy headers would be nice

DC isnt that good of a header? hmm...how come?

i have an automatic tranny...what do you think i should do about this? 2.25'' or 2.5''? im afraid to lose backpressure if i go too big on the piping...im going to get custom piping done...

on the extractor..there is the 4-2-1....my H22A has the 4 part...but not the 2-1 part.....so what would be the best solution? take it to my local exhaust shop? or to order a header online?

i guess if you only have 250 to spend get it. the dc doesnt do much for power. might as well get the damn ebay megan header if you just need any header on there. just go 2.5'' piping. use the search function. exhausts have been discussed A LOT.

i did use the search function...but nothing useful came up especially on piping size and headers....i already have an exhaust so all i need is the piping and the header....

yea i kindda just need the header on it because i wanna get the car up and going. so sick of being without a car for 1.5 months now....

the ebay headers some of them are really cheap. those will do nothing for performance wont they....but i guess im only paying $100...

will the local exhaust shops have anything in hand? i dont think so right?

the shop probably wont have anything on hand for a prelude... the $100 headers on ebay would be better than the stock header in most cases.

DC headers suck..The piping is pretty much the same size as stock. If you want a good header, invest in a 4-1 header such as SMSP and there are 2 others but I can't think of the names....DC is a 4-2-1 header, and they suck

what do you mean 4-2-1 headers suck....even Greddy headers are built 4-2-1...

4-1 header are of a different design....

i just bought the new released DC header...its 2.5'' at the outlet...which should provide me with the option to get a 2.5'' custom piping done....

right now...im just looking for a header to fit onto the car to get it going...and DC headers are the optimum mid range ones...

DC comes with 2.5" collectors now? oh, definitely go with 2.5" piping if you are looking for the most performance.

ok so its still a shitty header. It just has a larger collector. And i believe its only for the 4th gens IIRC.

whats funny is that its prolly not even fully 2.5".

wats with the hate against DC headers? lolz. you're paying a lower price...and maybe it isnt as good as a Greddy header....

but you're also saving on HALF the price...

i just bought the DC header with the 2.5'' collector...so yeaup. gonna be rocking that setup with my current muffler

Homie your not getting it....what there saying is DC is Garbage compared to RMF SMPS, KTELLER, etc. Believe me i didn't know why everyone was hating either until i was introduced to the above REAL HORSEPOWER TO THE WHEEL HEADERS. The Dyno sheets on these out weigh the DC or even the Greddy. If your juss gonna put headers cuz you wanna drive your car then buy whatever you want, but don't bet on performance though.

I very seriously doubt that

1. the DC Sports header is NOT " the ultimate midrange " header ( as you called it )... the best midrange options available are the GReddy and Vibrant headers

2. You will probably not gain anything ( power wise ) by going with a DC Sports header instead of an eBay header ( however, the DC Sports will probably be a better quality that the eBay one )

^yeah you can almost bet that any that types like that doesn't know what they are talking about.

greddy and dc are header that are 1/2 the price and 1/4 performance save your money and get an rmf for $850 or smsp for $1100-1200

Pm sent. Not everyone can afford high priced headers. Get what you want because you want to. Greddy and DC headers make some power, maybe not as much as others but they do have CARB certifications if you need that.

WTF?

+1 for not listening to Special Ed here/\/\

DC is really no better than a $100 ebay header that is a copy of it. My DC header has already cracked on one of the welds and the mounting bracket broke off after a short time (where it bolts to the back of the block). Just get the ebay special if you need to stick something on there to tide you over...

There's no reason to get a DC besides a CARB number. They'll get killed by the more expensive stuff in terms of power, and they offer nothing that the much cheaper ebay/megan/made in china stuff doesn't. They're the biggest rip off of them all, really...

wow...DC headers are really really that much of a rip off huh. well cant do anything about it already. im already ordered it and its reaching tomorrow.

Greddy is about $150 more and i dont have that kind of money to be spending right now. so i guess im gonna stick to using the DC header.

and about those headers priced above $1000. they're just unaffordable right now

why not get a megan header then? Saves you money and gets you the same gains.
