itr swaped hatch isnt fast?????????
I instaled my jdm itr motor a few days back and after i worked out all the bugs n got her runnin straight i decided to test out the power on the highway...well theres no power!...it feels slower then a b16 hatch in all aspects...here are some things i have already checked...plugs, injectors, cap/rotor, timing(not with a light but on the timing belt itself), gas is fresh 93 from sunoco...another thing i should mention is the vtec crosover isnt loud its actually VERY mellow and slow...i have never been inside an actuall itr hatch but this is in no way shape or form anything near 200hp..it feels more like 150ish hp.....there are no check engine lights and the car runs mint( aside from it being horibly slow)..i am goin to take another crack at it tomorow but until then im almost outa ideas...please any sugestions will be taken...and i purchased the motor from hmotorsonline.com if that matters...thanks in advance
could be ANYTHING. without hearing it or seeing it, no one will be able to accureatly tell you why our car is "slow" BTW....150ish? stock ITRs dyno at around 168 sooooo

what ecu are you runnig, and dont say a stock p28. do a compression and see if its still good. i did a 98 jdm itr swap and all it had was a chipped p28 ecu with a mugen program and that **** hauled ***.

ive had similar results with an ITR motor I put in someones crx... it turned out the stock p30 we were running it off of ( obd-1 converted) just wasnt aggressive enough, it basically felt like a b16. Get a vafc or hondata and get it tuned, you'll feel the difference then.
One of the first things I would do is a compression check, no matter how good the install, wiring, timing boltons are if you have crap comression then the car will be slow. If your compression comes up good then I would check the base timing at about 750-850 rpm when the car has warmed up a little, If you dont have an adjustbale light then just set it to base timing 16 degrees. If you car is still slow and all the rest of this stuff is good then you must habe a blockage some where thats robbing some serious power. Someone mentioned the cat possibly being the problem which is true, a stock old cat can rob allot of power. List the comeplete set up along with the ECU you are runnig !
Im going to do a comp test today....im running the type r ecu they sent me with a jumper harness ..i also tried my friends type r ecu and it was the same....the timing was perfect...and my exhaust is stock piping with b16 headers and no cat......lol and no the parking brake is fully released lol....i said 150ish hp because my old b16 with intake and exhaust felt ALOT faster then this...its not my imagination...i got beat by a b16a2 in a coupe yesturday by about 2 cars
so its that bad.....thats for the help n keep em' comin

as far as my setup goes:
96 JDM itr motor/tranny
96 jdm itr ecu with converter harness to run in obd1
e-gay short ram intake(came with car
)
....I am goin to try running open headers for a few minutes to see if the stok size exhaust is the culpret(wich i highly doubt)...i have acces to a vafc2 so im going to plug that it and atempt to getto tune...i would prefer dyno tune but i dotn know of any dynos or people capable around my area.

I'm going to go ahead and say that's your problem. When I swapped a b16 into my Civic EX I couldn't figure out why it was slow, until I unbolted the exhaust. Must have been taking out like 30hp. And that's a b16. I image it's killing the ITR. Just run open headers and see. It's a five minute job to unbolt the exhaust after the headers and just bolt it back but offset. Do it.

open b16 headers on itr motor=
.....alot faster but still not as fast as it should be....i raced a 95 gsr integra w/ the same motor (jdm itr) and beat it by about 1-1.5 car lenghts....im going to put on the headers that came with the motor tomorow n hook up that vafc2 and il see form there....but thatnks for all the help you guys have given me

Not easilly. The difference is minute, but getting those headers to fit on a B18 block is NOT a fun task.
