Default tigging brass...

got any advice? I got an old piece of nautical equipment that my in-law has asked me to repair. looks kinda like a globe made of 3/16" square rod bent into four quadrants to make a sphere. the top center where they all meet has broke

Braze'ing I believe is what you'll need to do.

I tigged brass today. Just get brass rod, and you can do it with a tig. brazing can do the same thing, but i've used the tig to do it many times. works great

Never tried it on brass. Copper is pretty fun to tig though.

Sidenote: grabbing uncoated brazing rod instead of silly bronze sucks. I just thought I would share that.
