New England Nor'easter Meet in Mystic CT

Over a year in the making, the members of the New England S2000 Owners Club are proud to announce the New England Nor'Easter; an action filled S2000 summer weekend in beautiful Mystic Seaport, Connecticut. This event will be headquartered at the Best Western Mystic Hotel . Event Registration information and Hotel reservation information is now located below! We have tried to highlight all the important stuff so it is easy to find. As you will see, there is a bunch to tell you about, so get ready to do some serious scrolling!
Dates:
To maximize our chances for great weather and minimize the chances of scheduling conflicts, this event will be held Friday August 11th, Saturday August 12th, Sunday August 13th. Event Check-in opens at 3:00 PM on Friday. The Event will end Sunday afternoon around 4:00 PM on the 13th. a
Schedule:
Friday
The fun starts right away. At check-in, every registrant gets an NES2KO welcome bag with a custom designed event T-shirt, magnet, refreshments and gifts courtesy of the New England S2000 Owner's club. Registration is followed by a welcome reception in the Hotel Courtyard, starting at 6:00 PM. The Courtyard will be furnished courtesy of NES2KO. Hors D'oeuvres will be served, and there will be a cash bar in the Courtyard. The reception will be open until 10:00PM. Friday night dinner will be on your own.
Saturday Morning
Start your day off right with a full American style breakfast, all included in your hotel registration. But don't stay too long. At 9:00 AM we will be heading out to CARDINAL HONDA in Groton, CT!!… about 5 miles away from the hotel for a fantastic morning of concurrent events. There will be something for everybody.
1. Auto show and shine. Display your car in this event. There will be awards for best custom S2000, best audio system, and best detailed S2000 given at the banquet later that night (oops, I gave that part away).
2. Holy Roller Dyno. New England member Giles will bring his portable Dynamometer and dyno cars at a fantastic discounted rate. Dyno time must be scheduled! To accommodate the most people, Giles will keep the Dyno open until 4:00PM. We will award prizes for the highest output stock car and the highest output modded car.
3. Dingman Car Ding Removal will be on site to remove all of the dings on your car! Tim is top notch and definitly knows what he's doing! He is the New England S2000 Owners official Ding Removal guy! And has attended all of our major events the past 3 years!
Saturday Afternoon
At noon we will be treated to a cookout lunch thanks to CARDINAL HONDA and our sponsors. Please get your food and be done by 1:30 PM because we have a great afternoon in store.
1. The Wine Drive. Touring Drive. Led by New England's own Specialque (Luke) and Paivag (George) You will take a fantastic drive through some of New England's best roads. Each drive will take you to a Connecticut Winery where the group will stop for a quick sample of some fine local wine (not too much now).
2. Holy Roller Dyno. Giles will continue up to 4:00 PM if folks want to test their cars.
3. Dingman, Door Ding removalwill also continue his ding removal if needed.
4. Gambling and Local Attractions. Had enough of cars for the day? We thought of you too. One group will be racing north west of the dealership, because the Casino is open! Foxwoods (the wonder of it all) and Mohegan Suns is just a few minutes up the road and if you don’t want to drive directly to the casinos… the hotel provides transportation for those who want a few adult beverages Saturday afternoon. Not a gambler? Well lets take a tour of Historic Mystic Seaport and see this fabulous whaling town close up. Just want to catch some rays, swim, or people watch? Bring your bathing suit because the beach is just down the street. Feeling a little hungry? Well, the world famous Mystic Pizza is also right down the street!. We tried to think of everybody and everything, The Nor'Easter is truly the start of your summer vacation!
Saturday Evening
Now don't play too late because we all have to get back to the Hotel by 6:00 PM. We will have a fantastic banquet, all paid for as part of the registration fee (sorry, cash bar again). The meal will be followed by awards for the winner of the car show and dyno and a special guest speaker.
After dinner, Legal Bill will be hosting a reception for the Vintage members (and friends of the Vintage Forum) in the Mystic Room. The Karaoke Machine will be on, so be forewarned. This could get ugly! But it is so much fun, you have to join in. Those who don't sing will find there is a Hotel bar and another tavern located just next door so NO ONE needs to drive after dinner.
Sunday Morning
Up and at 'em! Yup, another full American breakfast, followed by your choice of events.
1. The Autocross! This will be huge! The Autocross is about an hour away from the hotel, heading west. So if you are leaving New England at the end of the day, you should be a bit closer to home when you are done racing. And what great racing!
We will be running with a local club that uses a very large lot. Novices are welcomed and encouraged to attend. You will get a course walk through with an experienced S2000 owner. Expect to get your S2000 into 3rd or 4th gear on this course! Typical lap times will be 58-60 seconds. Possibly 10 runs per car! And nobody has to work a corner! We will have three classes of our own, and trophies will be awarded at the end of the day.
Cost of the autocross is $25 per driver, which includes a special gift from our Autocross Sponsor! And a Hot Dog Vendor will be on site that will be serving breakfast sandwiches in the morning if you missed the breakfast at the hotel, and lunch for all Autocross attendees and guests!
SA2000 or M2000 Helmets are required. Loaners may be available. Helmets may be available to be sold on site at a discounted rate, and we will confirm this soon!
Departure from the hotel to the Autocross Location will beat 8:00 AM sharp. The event will end around 4:00 PM.
2. Feeling lazy? Be a Sunday driver. Two of the NES2KO members will lead a Sunday drive, leaving the hotel around 10:00 AM. The drive will stop at the autocross so you can cheer on your favorite S2Ka member. And a Poker Run is in the works of being planned! More info to be announce soon!
3. Lunch. Autocrossers can get lunch at the track (hot dog stand) or additional arrangements will be made.
4. Goodbyes. Hope you had a great time!!

Actually..I was just looking at the date, how far is Mystic Seaport, Connecticut from Epping, New Hampshire? Anyone know?? I will be in Epping for NOPI on the 5/6 of August, so maybe I could make a week of it and head to Connecticut for the next weekend!!
