Default 1/4 mile time sucks

I ran my car last week twice.I ran a 15.6 both runs. Why is it so bad? Not one misshift good launches and reaction time. How could i get my 1/4 time faster. I shift around 7400 in every gear

60' 2.2
1/8 10.2
1/4 15.6@89.89

Something is happening between 60' (pretty good, esp. for street tires) and 1/8th mile - which is a good 3-5/10ths slower than it should be. If you're shifting at 7400 as indicated on the dash tach, you are probably shifting too soon and dropping briefly out of VTEC in second. Try shifting at 7900-8000 on the dash tach - just before you bang the rev limiter. As an aside, the dash tach in my 97 read several hundred RPMs higher than the digital tach in my Field unit indicated. In fact, you were probably shifting at closer to 7000-7100 RPMS.

if your car is stock I'd say you only have between 0.1 and 0.2 to shave off.

push it to 8000rpm especially in first gear.

other then that, great 60 foot time.

Yes, that's what I was thinking too - the 2-3 gearing is tighter so you don't have to rev it quite so hard to keep the car in VTEC. Just as an FYI, when I got rid of my 97, I was turning 9.8 - 9.9 1/8th mile times w/ 2.3x-2.4x 60' times - I/E only and that at a slow track.
