Independent Fog Light
Ok so I have not been able to review the Honda Shop Manual yet, but I am really wanting to do this modification. I know that is it just a relay somewhere and it is just a matter of finding it. I am wanting to be able to turn the fog lights on with the OEM fog light switch at any point and time. This mean even if the head lights or running lights are not on as well. Can someone help me out with this. I heard someone saw it on H-T, but I was unable to find it in a post…
Lets get this one solved…
I would like to run the fog lights all the time even if all of the lights are off, using just parking, on, & even with the brights.

I had this option with my STi with the JDM switch. I think it looks cool and would be nice to run when ever I want or just have the fogs on in the parking lots...
I have been wanting to do this.....and could care less about its legallity as long as it does not affect my ability to pass smog inspection. (90% of mods make street cars illegal anyways....)

I totally agree with both of these posts...

fine because no one has done it yet i guess il be the first to do it. all you have to do is find the relay for the fog then on the wire that is going hot when the lights come on, cut it and put it to a key on hot. il do it on thursday(my day off, and i will lower my car and mabe put in some hid's in the fog and headlight if money lets me) but i did it on my old celica so i dont see why any of you havent done it yet. you could even use one of the $.99 power tester(the one where you just hook it up to a ground and the put the pin in the wire and if it lights up then you got a 12v) well i do a write up for all of you and should have it up on sat night
you could also do like people do with DA integras just jumping a wire into the defroster switch thats a constant 12v or just run the wire from the switch to a open terminal on the fusebox i dont know where the switch is located in the fit so i dont know how easy or hard it would be

Just curious...</TD></TR></TABLE>
The main (non-cosmetic) reason would be to provide better lighting performance in foggy conditions. Fog lamps are designed to provide a low, flat, wide beam with as little upward scatter/glare as possible. This not only allows them to illuminate more effectively beneath the fog layer, but also prevents stray light from reflecting off the fog in the driver's line of sight and decreasing his/her visibility. With the low beam headlamps on, there is a greater amount of light and glare being generated above the fog lamp cut-off, thus reducing the effectiveness of the fog lamps when used in actual fog.
